Actually wolves are wolf spiders natural prey item. There are lots of wolf spiders where i live, and no wolves.

They're constantly wondering why everyone fears them. They're just survivin in these Australian streets.

Wolf spiders are timid, the only way that’ll bite is if you mishandle them or maybe trap them- it’s not a serious bite some redness, a little sting. They’re very beneficial; they kill scorpions, black widows an other spiders.

Love this! I used to be completely phobic of spiders, I gradually learned that they just have bad PR. They're way more afraid of us! Everytime my kids see a spider I let them try to pick them up, the poor things are always so scared and run the other direction away from their fingers.

I used to feed wolf spiders to my pet black widows. Some of them bigger than the widows

Something happened to a co worker years ago, I think it was a fishing spider, here in ohio, same size, colors well it happened fast, anyway my buddy was putting on uniform shirt that was in back of shop on hangar had couple maybe 4 buttons done when this huge spider came out of the pocket ,glad it wasn't me, but my buddy screemed Louder than any girl, started running around the shop trying to get his shirt off , I mean full speed, at the top of his lungs ,jm sorry but I was crying I laughed so hard , if I didn't see it I would not have believed it, I love telling people about it all these years later, as I said, I'm glad it wasn't me,

You ain't lying they're fast. I'm a pest control tech and when I change bait on our rat bait stations outside there's usually an alpha wolf spider. My first one he made it to my shoulder before I got him off but he was probably running away from the bait station being flipped open but I still get the serious heeby jeebies with only the wolf spiders. They're menacing and awesome all at once.

Hello my southern teacher. I have seen the results of a finger, chuck and way. NOT MINE. The staining on the ways is nearly imposible to remove. It is a constant reminder of what happened here one day. Our trade surely is a thing of creating beautyfull, useful things BUT, when a 1/2 inch pilot drill can move a 6 ton part off it's stands because it wasn't properly bolted down shows us how little we are in the pecking order of steel and skin/muscles. They are big and creepy to most. But are not a threat to people. They are very shy actually and will run more often than fight. Cool vid for sure!!!❤

I had a spider bite me on my neck while In Oregon, it causes necrosis through the bite, my skin turned greenish black where he bit me. It was a brown recluse… Nasty things.

I got two bumps on the bottom of my right breast, they were scabby and I had to go to urgent care, her in the Pacific Northwest they are brutal, they crawl in bed and bite you. The doctor looked at the abscessed bumps and told me they were Wolf Spiders bites, but not regular wolf spider bites, he said that some wolf spiders grow mutant long fangs, so they inject toxins much deeper, I hate wolf spiders and ours don’t look like that Texas Wolf Spider, they are furry and ugly, they have faces, ugh yuck. My kids have been bitten on their faces, Doctor asked if we had bedskirts & I told him yes, he told me to get rid of them coz the wolf spiders just use the skirts to climb onto/into beds.

I picked up a little dust covered box that had been in a corner behind a big chair and a wolf spider was sitting on top of it. I looked closely at it because the spider's color blended so well with the the dust and lint. The spider was leaning back away from me, it looked like we both had the same reaction to each other. I carried the box outside and let it run off.

I watched it in slow motion and he moved backwards 3 inches first then rotated around forwards and hit the after burner and was gone in a blurr!

I put one of these in my mouth only yesterday as a prank at work to scare a colleague, no harm came to it, or myself 😂 but yes they are very quick, and you are correct they are not the scary biting spiders that some people make out, I also have a photo on my phone of a female laden with hundreds of babies on her back my wife spotted when walking the dog one night, she didn’t stick around to watch me take photos 😅

If anything isn't in your house OR putting your family in any danger or possibility of disease AND runs away from you (as opposed to attacking or biting you), please don't kill them fyi. If they run it means they mean no harm no matter what type of organism/animal/arachnid. If they didn't do something (to hurt you or intend to) and they run, They have a purpose, and it's not to scare you or hurt you. Just saying, even though no one asked. This is a wolf spider by the way and there's more than a dozen different types of wolf spiders and they all look different. This wolf spider however, is called Rabid wolf spider ( Rabidosa rabida)

That is not a Wolf Spider. Also, Scorpions, Black Widows and Brown Recluses are not bugs. They are arachnids.

You can can shine a flashlight outside at night and see their eyes glowing in the grass. I once blew on a fuzzy one trying to get it to move before my cat got it. The weird fuzz which came off was babies but they immediately jumped back onto the mom. From what I understand, they are closely related to tarantulas. I must admit they startle me but I let them be.
